3:00-5:00 am - Depending on your hotel location, your transfer will pick you up from your hotel in Antalya or the wider Alanya region for your flight to Istanbul Ataturk Airport at 08:00 am. Upon your arrival to Istanbul Airport, your guide meets you and transports you to the old town district of Sultahnamet to begin your city tour.
First, you will visit Topkapı Palace, the residence of Ottoman Sultans exhibiting in numerous sections Imperial Treasury, sacred Islamic relics of Prophet Mohammed, Ottoman jewellery, belts and traditional clothes, Chinese porcelain, weapons, etc. Then you will have one hour of free time for a lunch. Istanbul offers many cafes, fast-food takeaways and stylish restaurants with a wide range of tastes.
After lunch, your first stop will be the Hippodrome, the centre of Byzantium's life for 1000 years and of Ottoman life for another 400 years, and has been the scene of countless political dramas. Originally the arena consisted of two levels of galleries, a central spine, starting boxes and the semicircular southern end known as the Sphendone, parts of which still stand. Then, you will visit Sultan Ahmed Mosque, known as the Blue Mosque by many tourists because of its bluish interior decoration. It is the most important mosque of Istanbul standing next to the Byzantine Hippodrome in the old city center. There are 3 entrances to the mosque, and after entering inside one gets shocked by the floral and geometrical interior decoration and beauty of over 21 thousand Iznik (Nicea) tiles, about 260 windows with stained glass, and calligraphy art of Koranic verses.
You'll then visit the Egyptian (Spice) Bazaar. You can practice your bargaining skills there while buying some souvenirs, Turkish delight, spices, etc. Afterwards, have free time for a Bosphorus River sightseeing cruise (optional for an extra charge), followed by dinner (optional and at own expense) at a local restaurant. Dinner options include hot and cold appetizers, salad, fish, meatballs or chicken, and fruit or dessert.
Around 8 pm, return to Istanbul Ataturk Airport for your flight back to Antalya or the wider Alanya region where your tour ends with drop-off at your hotel.
