Cancellation & Refunds

If your booking is no longer free to cancel, you may incur a cancellation fee. Please read this section carefully! 

Unless mentioned on the experience page, all experiences have the Cancellation Policy below. Please note that each experience can have its own Cancellation Policy. Make sure you are aware of the one you are interested in before you book the experience

If a traveler cancels the booking request before the confirmation of host, traveler will not be charged any fees or commission.

Unless otherwise is determined by the experience or listed in your cancellation policy and

  • a traveler or host wishes to cancel a transaction already completed more than 24 hours to the experience the date, traveler will be fully refunded.
  • a traveler wishes to cancel a transaction already completed less than 24 hours to the experience the date, traveler will be charged the traveler penalty fee, 50% of the final price. A 30% apology fee will then be transferred to host's account.
  • a host wishes to cancel a transaction already completed less than 24 hours to the experience the date, the host will be charged the host penalty fee (20% of experience price), which is a combination of part of the commission of loacal.com (10%) and an apology fee (10%). Traveler will be notified immediately by Loacal.com and might be entitled to a discount for a future Loacal.com bookings.

The refund amount you will receive depends on several variables. For example, experiences that require preparation will determine their policy accordingly. Fees and surcharges collected in conjunction with the experience will only be refunded if applicable.


Note: After the circumstances are agreed, it can take up to 2 weeks for us to receive and process your return.

Note: Multi-day experiences including accommodation, experiences that require pre-purchase tickets such as a plane ticket or an event ticket, are non-refundable.


Exclusions

A Loacal or a traveller who thinks has a valid reason for a booking cancellation such as death of an immediate family member, certain illness situations, travel cancellation due to third party...etc should contact cancellation@loacal.com immediately fully explaining the reason, with relevant proofs and documents. If the excuse is approved, refund will be provided.
